MTASA: Meet your new divisional specialists
The MTA has welcomed two new divisional specialists that come with a wealth of industry experience and a strong connection to the association. No matter your sector of the automotive industry, we have you covered!
Both Andrew Girolamo and Matthew Bezzina began their working lives as MTA apprentices many moons ago.
“I did my full apprenticeship at Smiths through the MTA, then stayed on after for five or six years,” said Andrew.
“It was a great experience, with good training and people to deal with.”
While Matthew began his apprenticeship with the MTA, he not long after initiated his own through a Holden dealership.
“I’ve been back to the MTA throughout my time as a qualified technician for training, attaining gas fitting and air-conditioning licences,” said Matthew.
With endless opportunities throughout the automotive industry, the light vehicle technicians went on to explore various roles before joining the MTA team.
“I was in a business development role with GM Holden in service and parts, looking after 15 Holden dealerships here in South Australia and the Northern Territory,” said Andrew.
After some time in defence, Matthew re-entered the automotive world.
“I most recently was an RAA liaison looking after about 150 repairers across SA,” Matthew said.
Going forward, Andrew will be looking after retail divisions, made up of the:
- Automotive Dealers Association (ADA)
- Commercial Vehicle Industry Association (CVIA)
- Farm and Industrial Machinery Dealers Association (FIMDA)
- Licensed Vehicle Dealers (LVD)
- Motorcycle Industry Association (MIA)
- Service Station (SSD)
- Tyre Dealers (TYRE)
- General
While Matthew is specialising in the repair divisions, consisting of:
- Automotive Repair & Engineering (ARD)
- Automotive Dismantlers (AD)
- Body Repair Specialists (BRD)
- Towing Services (TOW)
